Kim Reinhardt’s work explores the fertile edges between human anatomy, graphic design ecology, fiber, silkscreen and risograph printing, place and painting. Reinhardt also creates hand dyed, hand screen printed goods often using natural dyes with an interest in conscious sourcing of materials and an exploration of fraught and alternative economies.
Reinhardt attended Cooper Union for fine art and has also studied anatomy, kiniesology, developmental movement, mindfulness and teaching practice through an embodied pedagogy. Additional areas of interest and background encompass sustainable urban farming, gardening, green infrastructure and composting. Kimberly has participated in working groups through the School of Apocalypse as well as collaborated with the Environmental Performance Agency on workshops and actions. She completed a 6 month master composting apprenticeship with Earth Matter on Governors Island in 2017.
Recent teaching appointments include: Part Time Digital Imaging lecturer at Borough of Manhattan Community Collage and Summer Intensive Graphic Design Instructor at Parsons/New School Open Campus. Kimberly currently teaches Graphic Design and Digital Tools in the art department at Fordham University.
